Four Common Style Mistakes Made By People

No one is perfect, and let’s be honest, we all have outfits that we look back on and wonder how we could have let ourselves go out ‘like that!’. We’ve probably all held on to outfits that are little dated, worn clothes that are a bit too tight or too big, tried a new trend that really doesn’t suit us, to name just a few of the possible style “fails.” However, the beauty of style mistakes is that we can learn from them so we can avoid these fashion faux pas in the future.

To help you avoid some basic errors that could prove to be costly, Wisteria Boutique Limited has put together four of the most common style mistakes people make and how to avoid them.

1. Style of clothes

People tend to stick with a certain style that sometimes isn’t complementary to their body shape. Sometimes I see people that are on the short and chubby side wearing clothes that have stripes horizontally. This tends to make that kind of person look even chubbier. They should wear a fashion that would have vertical stripes to make them look taller, for example.

2. Colors of clothes

People tend to stick with one or two colors of clothes, and they’re stuck wearing them and avoid venturing from their norm, for example, always wearing black when the new trend is navy. They don’t want to go out of their comfort zone.

3. Shapes of clothes

Again, short chubby people tend to wear clothing like, say, a top that is too short that it shows their skin in an unflattering light. They should wear a top that is longer and goes past the waistline and doesn’t draw attention to their weight. Accordingly, tall people can wear a belt at the waistline if they want to cut their bodies so that they don’t look like an elongated pole, for example.

4. Body shapes

Depending on your body shape, tall, short skinny, people sometimes don’t know what to wear and what not to wear that will either add or take away from their shapes. This means that they may be highlighting something that they should or shouldn’t be. If a person realizes there’s a way to make it better, then that person will feel better about themselves.
